Capacity Building

The Capacity Building initiative is conceived to develop the capacities of municipal officials, elected representatives, local stakeholders, self-help groups, community-based organisations, and sector professionals to achieve holistic success and sustainability in the implementation of WASH and ES projects. It also strengthens the capacities of urban local bodies and development organisations in planning, service delivery and monitoring IHHL and community sanitation, FSSM and wastewater management, water supply and solid waste management. The specialized programmes provide a space conducive to building networks, sharing knowledge, and enabling innovations and pilot projects. The training programmes are envisioned to promote an exchange of experiences, training of employees and communities, dissemination of information, and promoting awareness and behaviour change practices activities.
